Description
Let me tell you about one of my favorite hiking spots that I discovered last year – the Boumaaze Mohamad hiking area. This expansive natural terrain offers some seriously awesome trails that’ll get your heart pumping while surrounding you with stunning landscapes. I’ve spent countless weekends exploring these paths, and I gotta say, it never gets old!
What really makes this place special is how it caters to different skill levels. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker like myself or just starting out, you’ll find trails that match your abilities. The terrain varies from gentle slopes to more challenging inclines, creating natural intervals that make for an excellent workout.

• Family-friendly paths suitable for children
• Pet-friendly environment – my dog absolutely loves it here
• Natural wildlife habitat – keep your eyes peeled for local fauna
• Seasonal wildflower displays that make perfect photo opportunities
• Multiple trail options allowing for both short walks and full-day hikes
• Clean, maintained pathways with minimal litter
• Natural shade coverage on many trails
• Safe parking area at the main entrance
Best Time to Visit
From my experience hitting these trails throughout the year, early morning hours offer the most pleasant hiking conditions. The temperatures are cooler, and you’ll catch some gorgeous sunrise views if you time it right. I’d recommend planning your visit between October and April when the weather’s more forgiving.
Summer months can get pretty intense here – trust me, I learned that lesson the hard way! If you do visit during summer, make sure to start your hike super early, like before 7 AM. The winter months bring milder temperatures and occasional rainfall, making the landscapes particularly green and photogenic.
How to Get There
Getting to Boumaaze Mohamad is pretty straightforward, but you’ll definitely want your own transportation. The main entrance is accessible via paved roads, and there’s decent signage leading you there. If you’re using a GPS (which I strongly recommend), make sure to download your maps beforehand as cellular service can be spotty in some areas.
Public transportation options are limited, so driving or arranging private transportation is your best bet. The parking area isn’t huge, but I’ve rarely had trouble finding a spot, especially if I arrive early in the morning.
Tips for Visiting
Listen up, because these tips come from someone who’s made pretty much every rookie mistake possible at this place! First off, bring way more water than you think you’ll need – I usually pack about 2 liters for a moderate hike. And don’t forget to wear proper hiking shoes – those fashion sneakers won’t cut it on some of these trails.
Pack some snacks and a basic first aid kit. The trails are safe, but it’s always better to be prepared. I learned this the hard way when I got a nasty blister halfway through my first visit!
If you’re bringing kids (which is totally cool here), start with the shorter loops first. You can always extend your hike if they’re feeling energetic. And for dog owners – yes, your furry friends are welcome, but keep ’em on a leash and bring waste bags.
Take pictures of the trail map at the entrance – it’s saved my behind more than once when I’ve gotten turned around. Oh, and don’t forget sunscreen and a hat, even on cloudy days. The sun can be sneaky here!
Last but not least, try to arrive early, especially on weekends. The parking lot fills up quick, and the trails are more peaceful in the morning. Plus, you might catch some amazing sunrise views – I’ve gotten some of my best photos during these early morning hikes!
