About Adventure South

Description

Located in the charming coastal town of Salcombe, we're not your average tour operator - we're adrenaline enthusiasts who've turned our passion into unforgettable adventures for folks just like you.

Look, I've spent countless hours exploring these waters and crags, and let me tell you - there's nothing quite like the rush of coasteering along Devon's dramatic coastline or paddling through crystal-clear waters on a sunny morning. Our team doesn't just guide you; we share our deep love for these natural playgrounds while keeping you safe and sound.

Best Time to Visit

Ya know what's crazy about South Devon? The weather here keeps you guessing! But here's the real deal - summer months (June through September) offer the warmest waters and longest daylight hours for water activities. That said, I've had some of my best coasteering sessions during spring and early autumn when the tourists thin out.

For climbing on Dartmoor, spring and autumn provide ideal conditions with cooler temperatures and less rainfall. Winter can be spectacular too, especially for the hardcore adventurers among you - just pack accordingly and expect some last-minute schedule juggling if the weather turns.

How to Get There

Getting to our slice of adventure paradise isn't too tricky. If you're driving (which honestly makes life easier), follow signs to Salcombe. The nearest train stations are Totnes and Plymouth - both about an hour's drive away. But here's a pro tip: book your activities first, and we'll send you detailed directions to the specific meeting points. Some of our best spots are tucked away in places Google Maps hasn't quite figured out yet!

Tips for Visiting

After years of guiding folks through these adventures, I've picked up a few essential tips that'll make your experience even better:

1. Wear clothes you don't mind getting wet - that designer swimsuit? Maybe leave it at home.

2. Bring a change of clothes and a towel. You'd be surprised how many people forget this basic necessity!

3. Book ahead, especially during summer months. Nothing worse than showing up only to find we're fully booked.

4. Eat a good breakfast but not too close to activity time. Trust me on this one - coasteering on a full stomach isn't fun.

5. Don't forget your camera or phone (we've got waterproof cases), cause these moments are definitely Instagram-worthy.

6. Check weather forecasts, but don't let a little rain scare you - sometimes those are the most memorable adventures!

7. Listen to your guide's safety briefing - yeah, I know it might seem boring, but we've seen enough close calls to know it matters.

8. If you're bringing kids, let us know their ages when booking so we can tailor the experience appropriately.

And hey, one last thing - don't be afraid to push your comfort zone a bit. That's where the magic happens, and we'll be right there supporting you every step of the way. Some of my favorite moments are watching people overcome their fears and discover just what they're capable of!
