But don’t let its official function fool you – this 18th-century baroque gem offers way more than just administrative offices. I absolutely love wandering through the magnificent gardens, which remind me of those grand European estates you see in period films.

The villa’s architecture is flat-out stunning, with its imposing facade and elegant proportions that’ll make any architecture buff swoon. What really gets me excited though are the incredible frescoes inside – they’re seriously some of the best-preserved examples of baroque art I’ve seen in northern Italy. From my experience, spring (April-May) is absolutely magical here – that’s when the gardens burst into color and the weather’s just perfect for exploring the grounds. But honestly? Fall might be even better. September and October bring this gorgeous golden light that makes the villa’s facade glow, plus there are usually fewer tourists around.

If you’re coming in summer, try to visit early in the morning or late afternoon. The midday sun can be pretty intense, and the gardens aren’t as enjoyable when it’s super hot.
