Long Sands Beach

Description

Parking here is metered and runs right alongside the beach, which is convenient but also means you’ll want to keep an eye on the clock so you don’t get a ticket. It’s a neighborhood beach, so it’s not overwhelmed by crowds, but you’ll still find a decent mix of families, surfers, and folks just looking for a chill day by the water. The vibe is pretty laid-back, no pressure to dress up or be fancy — just come as you are and enjoy the simple pleasures of sun, sand, and surf.

What I really appreciate about Long Sands Beach is how it manages to balance being accessible yet not overrun with tourists. You won’t find a boardwalk packed with souvenir shops or a million beach bars, but that’s kind of the point. It’s a place to reconnect with the basics. And trust me, after a few visits, you start to notice the little things — the way the sunlight hits the water in the late afternoon, the sound of seagulls mixed with the crashing waves, and the friendly nods from other beachgoers who are just as happy to be there as you are.

It’s not perfect — sometimes the parking can fill up on busy weekends, and the meters might feel a bit stingy if you’re planning a long day. But honestly, that’s a small price to pay for the kind of easy-going beach day you’ll have here. If you’re looking for a no-nonsense, authentic beach experience without the tourist trap feel, Long Sands Beach might just surprise you with how much you end up loving it.
