I’ve been looking for off-the-beaten-path destinations in Ethiopia and Debre Mark’os keeps popping up in my research. Has anyone spent time there recently? I’d love to know about any hiking trails around the area – I’ve heard rumors of some beautiful forest paths that give you amazing views of the surrounding countryside. Also, what’s the best way to get there from Addis? I’m thinking of renting a car, but I’m wondering if local transportation might be more reliable given some of the road conditions I’ve read about. And if anyone has recommendations for local food spots, I’m all ears! I’m particularly interested in trying authentic Ethiopian cuisine that might be specific to this region. Thanks in advance for any tips!
