Best Time to Visit

I gotta tell ya, Cape Verde’s weather is pretty sweet year-round, but there are definitely some prime times to hit up DIVE-TRIBE. July through November is when you’ll get the warmest water temps (around 26°C/79°F) and the best visibility. That said, December to June ain’t bad either – just pack a slightly thicker wetsuit.

The absolute peak season runs from August to October when you’ve got the best chance of spotting some amazing marine life, including turtles and various species of rays. But honestly? Even during the “slower” months, there’s always something cool to see underwater here.

How to Get There

Getting to DIVE-TRIBE is pretty straightforward once you’re in Mindelo. The center’s located right near the main harbor area – you can’t miss it. From Cesária Évora Airport, it’s about a 15-minute taxi ride into town. If you’re staying at one of the local hotels, most offer shuttle services, or the dive center can arrange pickup for you.

Pro tip: If you’re walking from the town center, just follow the waterfront promenade – it’s actually a really nice stroll that’ll give you a feel for the local vibe. And hey, the staff are super helpful with directions if you get turned around.

Tips for Visiting

Alright, here’s the inside scoop from someone who’s been there – book your dives in advance, especially during peak season. Trust me on this one, it’ll save you some headaches. And while they’ve got great equipment, bring your own mask if you can – it’s always more comfortable using your own gear.

Make sure to bring a proof of certification if you’re already a certified diver. Oh, and don’t forget to bring cash – while they do accept cards, sometimes the internet connection can be a bit spotty (island life, am I right?).

If you’re new to diving, try to arrive a day before your planned dive to get properly settled and rested. The staff really appreciates it when you’re fresh and ready to go.
