Devil

Devil’s Millhopper Geological State Park offers visitors a rare glimpse into Florida’s prehistoric past. The park’s centerpiece is a massive [500-foot-wide, 120-foot deep sinkhole](https://floridahikes.com/devils-millhopper-geological-state-park/), formed by the collapse of surface limestone, revealing layers of earth and small waterfalls cascading down its steep slopes. A [boardwalk system descends to the bottom of the sinkhole](https://www.floridastateparks.org/parks-and-trails/devils-millhopper-geological-state-park/experiences-and-amenities), allowing visitors to observe the lush vegetation and fossilized shark teeth, marine shells, and plant remains that have been uncovered over time. The park also features a [half-mile nature trail](https://www.floridastateparks.org/parks-and-trails/devils-millhopper-geological-state-park/experiences-and-amenities) that meanders along the rim of the sinkhole, offering a different perspective of this geological marvel. With its unique ecosystem and rich history, Devil’s Millhopper provides an educational and awe-inspiring experience for nature enthusiasts and casual visitors alike.
