Description
Looking for a modern shopping experience that breaks the mold? The Ànec Blau shopping center in Castelldefels really stands out from your typical mall. As a frequent visitor myself, I love that this place stays open all week long – yep, even Sundays and holidays from 9 AM to 9 PM, which is pretty rare for this part of Catalunya! The sprawling 30,000 square meter space feels welcoming and spacious, perfect for leisurely browsing or getting all your shopping done in one go.
What I particularly appreciate about Ànec Blau is how it keeps evolving and trying new things. They’re always bringing in fresh stores and coming up with creative promotions that make each visit interesting. And hey, who doesn’t love free parking? That’s definitely a huge plus in my book.

Best Time to Visit
From my experience, weekday mornings tend to be quieter if you’re looking to shop in peace. The mall gets busier during weekends and holiday periods, especially between 12 PM and 8 PM. But honestly? That’s when there’s the most buzz and energy! For movie lovers, I’d recommend catching the first showing of the day when the theaters are less crowded. If you’re planning to dine, try to avoid the peak lunch rush between 1:30 PM and 3:30 PM – that’s when most locals have their main meal.
How to Get There
The mall is super easy to reach from anywhere in Castelldefels. If you’re driving, just follow the signs – you can’t miss it! Public transportation is also convenient, with several bus lines stopping nearby. And once you arrive, finding a spot is never an issue thanks to the massive free parking area. Just remember where you parked – I’ve definitely spent a few embarrassing minutes wandering around looking for my car before!
Tips for Visiting
I’ve learned a few tricks from my regular visits that might come in handy. First off, download the mall’s app if they have one – it’s a lifesaver for keeping track of promotions and events. The food court can get pretty packed during lunch hours, so I usually grab an early or late lunch to avoid the crowds.
Keep your parking ticket handy – even though it’s free, you’ll need it to exit. If you’re planning to spend the whole day here (which is totally doable), the morning is perfect for shopping when stores are less crowded, followed by lunch and maybe catching a movie in the afternoon.
For families with kids, the playground is a great spot to let little ones burn off some energy between shops. And don’t forget to check out their seasonal events – they often host special activities during holidays that are worth planning your visit around.
Pro tip: The mall often runs special promotions and sales events, especially during seasonal changes. Sign up for their newsletter to stay in the loop about upcoming deals. And if you’re into tech, those Tesla charging stations come in handy – though you might wanna check availability beforehand since they can get pretty busy.
One last thing – while the mall’s officially open until 9 PM, some stores might start closing up shop a bit earlier, especially on Sundays. I usually wrap up my shopping by 8:30 PM just to be safe. Oh, and bring a light jacket even in summer – the air conditioning can get pretty chilly when you’re spending a few hours inside!

Elara
I was just at Ànec Blau last month and was pleasantly surprised they’re open on Sundays! That’s such a rarity in Catalunya. Has anyone tried the food court there lately? I got stuck in that 1:30-3:30 lunch rush (rookie mistake lol) and couldn’t decide where to eat with all the options. Also, those Tesla charging stations were completely full when I visited – is there a best time to snag one? My kids absolutely loved the playground area which gave me a much-needed breather from shopping. And can we talk about the cinema?? I’m heading back to Castelldefels next month and wondering if the movie tickets are cheaper on weekdays vs weekends? The parking situation was WAY better than Barcelona malls, but I still managed to forget where I parked and spent like 20 minutes wandering around like an idiot 🤦♀️
