I usually set out early in the morning; the trip takes about 4 to 4.5 hours (roughly 350 km/217 miles) via the N4 and R49. Most of the drive is on good tar roads, but be aware that the last stretch to the reserve is gravel. Standard vehicles normally have no trouble, but after heavy rain, a 4×4 can be useful.
