Bull Shoals has been on my radar for ages, and I finally took the plunge last September – holy cow, what a find! That tip about fall being magical is spot on. The Ozark colors reflecting on that crystal clear water? Unreal. I spent hours just watching fish swim below my kayak like I was floating over an aquarium.
Has anyone tried the scuba diving there? Those underwater caves sound incredible but also kinda intimidating for someone with just basic certification like me. Also curious if locals have a favorite spot for catching those striped bass? My personal best was at sunrise near the eastern shore, but I feel like I just got lucky.
Oh and seriously – that advice about spotty cell service is gold. I got slightly lost on one of the hiking trails because my offline maps weren’t downloaded properly. Rookie mistake! Anyone have recommendations for which trail offers the best views without killing my out-of-shape legs? And which local café has the best breakfast? I’m already planning my return trip for next spring!
